She was feeling hungry, but didn’t know if she could eat anything right now after feeling sickness earlier. Claire sighed and nodded in response to Leon after he felt her forehead. As Leon spoke to Forest, she couldn’t pay attention much to what was being said. Her focus was on if she should stay here or not. Maybe it would be a good idea if she stayed behind. It was clearly what Leon wanted her to do, and maybe she could rest some more. She then began to listen on to what Forest was saying to Leon about the T and S virus. She remembered the T virus very well, and only knew some info about the S virus. Leon didn’t share much with her about it considering he wasn’t sure of everything dealing with the virus himself. Before Claire could say anything, she then felt Forest wrap his arms around her, which made her smile. She held him back and looked up at him as he spoke to her. “I’ll try if you promise me you’ll take care of yourself” Claire replied giving a small kiss on his cheek. “You’re part of our family now. We’re here for you Forest. You’re not alone in this.”
“Claire is right,” Leon watched the two sharing a hug. “You’re a part of this family. We got your back no matter what.” The ex-cop finished his coffee and placed the mug down on the kitchen counter before saying anything else. Maybe this was a personal matter to Forest. Leon didn’t wanted to stand in the way for that, but it did worry him. A part of him wanted to be stubborn and say they would go with him, but Forest knew what he was doing. And he had Leon’s respect.
Leon smiled a bit at the thought of Claire staying here. It was more peaceful than home. Less traffic, kinda far away from everything. And the dogs would keep her busy. “Me and Claire will stay until we hear from you. There is no point of going back just yet. I still have to speak to Hunnigan and the President,” Leon took a seat across the table and shook his head a bit. “Besides… I’m no use out in the field until I get this poison out of my body. It’s too risky if I get some sort of fit while fighting.”
For the first time he actually admitted it. And it scared him. Mainly because he felt like he couldn’t protect Claire or Forest. He wanted to protect as many as he could. His eyes fell down to his hands that was folded on the table. Silence filled the room as none of them had anything to say. Finally Leon looked over to Claire then Forest. “Just be careful. And keep in contact. If anything happens I will be there.” The agent took a deep breath and continued to look at him. “Apart from the depressing stuff… I’d like to ask you to be my best man,” Leon managed a smirk.
“Leon…………”
Forest didn’t know what to say. Leon had just asked him to be the best man for his and Claire’s wedding? Forest hadn’t been to a wedding since he was a kid!
“I……I’d be honored. Of course I’ll be yer best man, bud. Ain’t much fer speeches, but I’ll do my best.”
As Forest finished his cup of coffee, he set the mug in the sink along with Leon’s. He put a hand on Leon’s shoulder, looking at Claire then back to Leon.
“Feel free ta help yerself ta whatever I got in the fridge or pantry. The dogs’re out in the backyard playin’, just in case yer wonderin’. I’m gonna bring this stuff ta the lab at the precinct an’ contact my friend. Might be gone fer a while, so if ya wanna order out fer dinner, I’ll leave my card here.”
He tapped his hand lightly under Claire’s chin, smiling at her.
“I promise I’ll take care’ve myself. Ya got my word.”
Forest nodded at the couple before walking over towards the front door, quickly sliding his cowboy boots on and grabbing his jacket. He still hadn’t showered since they got back, but it could wait.
H-Hey! Im b-back! Was I missed?
Are you okay? You seem a bit skittish.
Brad’s always been a bit’ve a nervous dude. Yer ok, ain’t ya Vickers?
Claire woke up to the smell of coffee, which quickly made her feel sick. She ran to the bathroom and felt she would throw up, but didn’t. She took a minute to collect herself before washing her face. After leaving the bathroom, she started to go downstairs, but stopped once she heard Leon and Forest talking in the kitchen. She listened closely to Forest telling Leon not to worry about him, or the virus he had. Claire’s heart sank when hearing what he was saying. She wished there was something she could do to help him. The thought of Forest going through all of this was frightening. She started to wonder about the virus she had. Would it be the same for her? She hoped not, but knew anything could happen.
Once they were finished talking, she calmly walked down the stairs and joined the both of them. “Morning fellas” she said to them as she sat down at the table. She was still feeling a little sick from the smell of the coffee, but tried hard to ignore it as best she could. “What are the plans for today?” Claire hoped they could now talk things out with what they should do next. She wasn’t sure how long her and Leon were staying here, but felt she had to keep an eye on Forest now. She wanted to make sure both of her boys were ok.
His blue eyes fell onto the tube as Forest explained himself. So it was true; he was infected. But still alive. It reminded him of the same sort of liquid Claire was in when she was captured in the tube. The second Forest changed the subject Leon looked away with folded arms over his chest. He hadn’t yet touched the coffee Forest had offered him. Now there was two people he had to look out for, plus himself with the poison. “Whatever it is, we need to get it checked out. It could still be related to Claire. Even though she seems fine I’m still worried.”
Behind him he heard small footsteps and turned a bit to see Claire. She looked just as sick as he was feeling at the moment. As he took a deep breath he went over to her and felt her temperature by placing a hand on her forehead. She was hot and even a bit sweaty. “Well, first off you need breakfast. You can’t go anywhere on an empty stomach. And when we are ready, we are paying a visit to one of Forest’s friends.” Leon looked over at him to give him a hint not mentioning anything to Claire just yet. He wanted to find out what Forest was throwing up and find out if his lady friend knew anything about the S-virus. Leon quickly looked back to Claire and took his hand off her forehead. “I rather want you to stay here. It’s safer, but I understand if you want to come. We are just gonna find out a few things and about the information I got on the flash drive…” he trailed off and walked back over to Forest and sipped a bit of the coffee. “Apart from that… I need you to read this,” Leon handed over the PDA with the flash drive. “I’m not sure if this is what you’re infected with. But I believe that’s what happened to Claire.”
“Leon, I gotta go alone. It’s too dangerous fer y’all, ‘specially after all the damage we caused out in Paris, an’ I ain’t puttin’ ya two in danger. Yer free ta stay here as long as ya like or as long as ya need to, though. My home’s yer home.”
Forest stepped forward and took the PDA from Leon, looking at the text that scrolled across the screen.
“I ain’t the smartest fella when it comes ta this kinda stuff, but I seen data like this b’fore in a couple’a Umbrella’s other labs. It’s test data from when they were creatin’ this beast of a virus. It may be what Claire’s got, but it can’t be the same as mine. Like I told ya, I was infected YEARS ago. It was the original T-Virus. But maybe there’s some sort of a link between tha two of ‘em.”
He studied the data a few moments longer before handing the PDA back to Leon.
“I’m thinkin’ that my strain’ve the T-Virus mutated into what’s now known as the S-Virus. It’s what makes sense ta me, but I don’t know fer sure. Like I said, I’ll bring it ta my friend and she can hopefully make sense of it all.”
Forest set his cup down on the counter and walked over to Claire, hugging her around the waist.
“I don’t want ya worryin’, like I told Leon. I’m gonna be just fine. Ya got yer baby ta worry ‘bout an’ goin’ out ta try ta be a hero isn’t good fer ya OR the baby. Please just try an’ relax, Claire.”

Seeing the marks on Leon worried Claire instantly. She wanted those marks to go away, but knew it would take time for them to heal. She ran her hand over them gently, barely touching before giving them a kiss. Her arms then held Leon and rested her head on his bare chest. She could happily hear his heart beating which made her smile. She then turned her head to look up at him and gave a sweet peck on his lips. “And you’ll be a good daddy” she responded to him in a caring tone. “I know everything will be ok. Well, I hope it will be. I’m still worried that you can’t take care of yourself half the time Leon. I got a feeling I’ll be taking care of two babies. You and our little one.” Claire gave a small laugh before her hand started rubbing up and down the side of his neck slowly. She knew Leon didn’t want to hear a joke like that, but it was true. “Sometimes grown men act like big babies.” Her finger ran down his bottom lip before she let go of holding him. Claire then turned around to switch off the lamp on the beside table. The room went dark only for a second, before the moon from outside shined through the windows to give some light.
Leon just smiled to her before she turned the light off. But before she could turn back he had already wrapped his arms around her to sleep in a spoon position. She was warm, which only made him smile; at least her and the baby seemed to be fine. It wasn’t long before Leon shut his eyes and finally fell asleep.
Leon slowly opened his eyes and looked up to the ceiling. That had just been the best sleep he had in a while. He turned his face to see Claire still asleep; breathing softly and winkling her nose a bit. Leon smiled before quietly getting out of bed. As he picked up his clothes from the floor he began to think what was best to do from here. He still needed to meet up with Ada. And he yet had to contact HQ about this new virus. Just as he pulled the dirty shirt over his head he heard Claire making a noise which startled him slightly. He sighed low and smiled before stepped over next to the bed on her side. He crouched down a bit to be same height as her and gentled touched her cheek. “I’m going downstairs, sweetheart,” he whispered before kissing her forehead and stood up straight again.
Leon quietly walked past the couch Forest had been sleeping on; not really paying attention if he was even there or not. The agent unlocked the front door and stepped outside. Still pretty dark, but at least the sun was shinning through those clouds. As he took a deep breath he took out his PDA along with the flash drive he had taken back from Claire. As the file began to load on his PDA, he noticed it went black screen for longer than normal before white plain text appeared on the screen.

Leon read it twice just to make sure he got it right. Claire wasn’t in danger. But the thought of people might be dying slowly before turning into the living dead freaked him out a little. “Shit..” he turned the PDA off and headed back inside again and saw Forest in the kitchen. “Morning…” his voice was low and couldn’t even face him. This was bigger than he had expected. “So.. slept well?” This wasn’t the time. Not now. Not when everyone was just recovering from yesterday’s adventures.
Forest leaned against the counter, deep in thought as Leon walked into the kitchen.
“Slept fer a little while, few hours. More’n enough. Ya want coffee?”
He turned and grabbed a couple of mugs out of the cupboard and threw a packet into the coffee maker. Within a couple of minutes, he had brewed two cups, setting one on the counter next to him. He could tell just by looking at him that Leon could use a cup.
“Leon……….” Forest hesitated before continuing. He didn’t want to cause any more stress for him or for Claire. But he was never one to keep secrets from those he cared for. Forest always was an open book. Sometimes to a fault, but it was never a bad thing in his eyes.
“Claire ain’t the only one who’s infected with a virus. I am as well, but ya probably read my dossier at some point. Ya know that this is common knowledge by now. Now, I been clean fer at least the last five years or so. The virus is still in my system, it’s just dormant. I was given an antivirus ‘bout six years ago that stopped my convulsions an’ any possible mutation. Least….that’s what I thought, what I hoped.”
He pulled the evidence tube out of his pocket and showed it to Leon, taking a sip from his coffee.
“I had ‘nother convulsion last night, first one in years. Started coughin’ up this shit, whatever it is. Now I been in contact with someone who’s an expert in the viral field, an’ she’s gonna tell me what this is an’ how ta figure out what I gotta do next. I don’t want Claire an’ yerself ta worry too much ‘bout it. I can handle this, alrighty?”
Forest knew that Leon would probably worry anyway, it was in his nature. And that’s what made Forest trust him. He knew Leon cared.
“Besides, yer gonna be a daddy! I ain’t takin’ ya away from yer family.”
When Leon had left the room, Claire sat there in silence as she looked down at the towel. She wanted to cry, because she knew he was right, but she was right too. No matter if he was thrown into being an Agent, his life was changing now, and he needed to start thinking about that. About the choices he makes. She understood he was trying to get something that would be helpful for them both, but it almost killed him. The thought of what would of happened had she not of shown up to help, made Claire feel sick. She took a breath in and out before she got up from the bed. Setting he towel down on the dresser, Claire opened the door and went downstairs to join Leon and Forest.
As she got downstairs, she noticed Leon talking to Forest to make sure he was ok. Claire began to worry about her friends health. He did look really sick, but maybe he was just exhausted. Today was really rough on him so it only made sense he would look like hell. As Forest fell asleep, Claire grabbed Leon by the hand to pull him away. “Let him rest. He’ll be fine” Claire whispered before walking up the stairs with Leon behind her.
The refreshing drink helped him relax before he heard Claire coming downstairs. As he was just about to say something she has already taken his hand and pulled up up the stairs again, leaving Forest on the couch with the dogs. As they entered the bedroom again Leon chuckled quietly. “Can’t wait, huh?” he whispered before closing the door behind him. They both sat on the double bed; Leon beginning to take his clothes off while Claire was still quietly beside him.
Once his shirt was off, exposing the scars and burn marks he has gotten from saving her, not to mention the nasty acid wound on his shoulder, Leon finally looked at her with a concern look in his blue eyes. “You’re stressing out,” he said low as he touched her cheek. That moment they both were quiet while Leon caressed her cheek, just admiring his wife. She was so strong and brave. And he was really proud of her. Leon broke the silence by looking down to her stomach and suddenly smiled brightly; almost like kid that couldn’t wait for his birthday present. “It’s growing…” he whispered somewhat excited and carefully placed his hand on her tummy. Leon might not know a lot about pregnancy, but he couldn’t wait to see the baby grow and Claire as well. “You will be an amazing mother, Claire…” Leon leaned forward and pressed his lips against her head. His wrapped his arms around her and smiled a bit as he held her closer. “We will make it. Forest too. He just looked a bit scared. Not sure why. I hope he will be fine.”

Forest opened his eyes, looking at his ceiling. He was awake again. Sweating profusely, his eyes darted around the darkened living room, his heart hammering in his chest.
Bear must have sensed that Forest was awake again, he crawled up from the other side of the couch (having moved sometime in the night) onto Forest’s chest and sniffed him, licking his cheek. Forest chuckled weakly and pet Bear’s head.
“Good boy,” Forest whispered.
He rested his head back again and took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. His dreams had been horrific, terrifying. He sensed something was terribly wrong with him, but he couldn’t figure out what. Forest still had the sample of that black substance he had coughed up earlier, and he’d bring it to someone he could trust who knew a lot more about viruses than anyone else he knew.
He glanced at his watch. He’d been asleep for at least five or six hours. He couldn’t hear any voices upstairs, so either Claire and Leon were still asleep or they had left.
“Nah, they gotta be asleep. Leon’d wake me up if he was plannin’ on jettin’.”
Forest picked up Bear and nudged his cheek with his nose before letting him plop back on the couch as he stood up, stretching his arms up over his head. The dogs would probably need to get outside for a bit. The sun was just starting to lighten up the horizon, but it was still relatively dark out. There couldn’t be any harm in letting them roam around the backyard. Forest walked to the back door and opened it up to his deck. JJ had woken up by then and followed Forest to the door.
“C’mon, you two. Enjoy,” he said quietly as the two dogs walked out to the deck and down the three stairs into the yard. As they walked about, Forest shut the screen door, leaving the glass one open, and turned to his coffee maker.
“Christ…………ain’t got no clue what’s gonna happen now.”
{{This takes place directly after my last RP post with Leon and Claire, and directly before my next one}}
Forest couldn’t tell where he was, his chest felt…..cold, almost. He looked down at his hands, and saw that they were not only larger, but his skin had darkened and grayed and his fingers were tipped with long, razor-sharp claws.
He let out a guttural, grating moan that seemed to reverberate through his chest cavity and out to his hands and feet as he trudged along this unknown hallway.
“H-h-h-helP mE…..ss-s-s-ssoMeOne p-p-pleAsE…..” he tried to cry out.
As he came to the end of a hallway, he finally saw his reflection in a large window…..and was horrified.
He had grown taller, his hair had darkened to pitch black, a number of large, sharp spikes had sprouted from the backs of his arms and his eyes now glowed brightly in a pale yellow-ish color. But the biggest change, it seemed, were the appearance of two huge wings that had ripped through his back.

Forest let out a brutal, animalistic scream of terror, agony and anguish so loud and powerful that it shattered every window in the hallway, including the one in front of him. He walked through the door to his left and into what seemed to be a reception area of some kind.
There were so many people, screaming and terrified, running from this beast that had until recently been a loving, friendly Southern good ol’ boy. He roared again, it was much deeper and guttural this time. He was still changing….mutating….
As he broke his way through the front doors, he caught a fleeing civilian by the neck and suddenly took flight. As he flew up above the top of the building, he held the struggling man out in front of him, Forest looked into his eyes, curling his lips into a wicked grin before dropping him, listening to the man’s scream as he plummeted to the ground, as soon as the man hit, as he should have heard a splattering THUD….
….Forest’s eyes shot open, looking at his own living room ceiling, still in the same place he was when he had fallen asleep.
Claire didn’t want to argue with him. She understood how worried he was for not only her health, but the baby’s too. She wanted to also be careful for the baby inside her, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t help Leon and Forest right now. Claire took her hand from him and looked away. “I hear you Leon, but you both need me. I’ll be fine, I promise.” Claire then looked back at him and saw the worry in his eyes. “You know no matter what, I’m not going to sit back and let yourself get killed. Back in Raccoon City, you and me made a promise to each other.” Claire took a deep breath before continuing. “We’re partners, and we will be there if one of us is in trouble.” She held the towel in her hands, and looked down at it on her lap. She started to remember that day in Raccoon City when her and Leon made that promise. It was like yesterday to her that they went through all that hell.
“I know you have a job to do Leon, but you signed up for another job too. To be a husband and father.” As she sat there beside him, she grew quiet for a moment. She hoped he would understand. “If anything happened to you, I’d be in pieces as well.” Claire didn’t want to make him feel as though he had to choose which life to live, but maybe he had to? As much as she respects what he does, she knew this life he was living couldn’t go on forever. “I know when I get far in to this pregnancy, I won’t be able to help you like I can now. It scares me to think about it.”
Claire’s words sounded gentle, but yet Leon couldn’t help but feel like he had failed to be there for her. She just didn’t seem to understand this was a personal matter; it wasn’t a job, it was something he needed to do. Needed to find out so she and the baby could be safe.
“I wasn’t trying to pick a fight here, Claire,” Leon kept his voice low and calm. He wished she knew how hard this was for him. He wished she knew everything about his job. The agent took a deep breath and shook his head. “This isn’t about my job, this is about what happened to you, and why did they did. You were weak, you still are and you’re pregnant. You’re putting yourself into more danger.”
Leon looked at her face and reminded himself he had to pick his words wisely. Claire could had those crazy mood swings and he certainly wasn’t in the mood for it right now. “I never had a choice, Claire. I can’t just quit my job. I can’t change my life. I know you expect me to be there, and I will do my best. But my job… it isn’t simple,” he looked away from her and took a deep breath. “I need a drink. I will be back in a second.”
He quickly kissed her forehead before walking over to the bedroom door and walked downstairs quietly. He wasn’t sure if Forest had fallen asleep or not, but the guy probably was tired. Once downstairs Leon walked past the couch Forest was on with Bear. He smiled a bit when he saw him still awake. “Can’t sleep either?” Leon asked low before pointing towards the kitchen. “I was just going to get some water, if that’s fine. Thirsty.” Leon noticed the look on Forest’s face, like he was thinking of something else. Something that had nothing to do with their mission. “Are you alright?”
“Go on ahead, bud. Glasses’re above the sink.”
Forest laid his head back and was about to close his eyes until he heard Leon’s voice ask him if he was alright. Truth was, he wasn’t. His body had almost completely shut down on him no more than half an hour ago. But now wasn’t really the time to bring that up. Leon and Claire both needed their rest, as did he.
“I’m good. Just feelin’ a little beat up. Just need some sleep, I guess.”
He gently stroked Bear’s belly as the little pup slept up against him. Dogs had always taken to him really easily, leading to his mother jokingly calling him “The Dog Whisperer” when he was a small child. It didn’t matter whether it was a tiny chihuahua or a huge, vicious pit bull, dogs just seemed to love Forest.
“Got some stuff I gotta bring ta tha lab in the next day’r so. But it can wait. Y’all need yer rest. We’ll figure out what we’re gonna do in the mornin’.”
As he saw Leon walk into the kitchen, Forest was suddenly overcome with a very strong feeling of exhaustion. His eyelids felt like they weighed a ton and his body felt like it almost melted into the couch. He soon fell into a deep sleep. Even he couldn’t anticipate the dreams to come.
